English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 9, 1935.

The divided shield is the arms of the former Marquisate of Saluzzo. The first coat of arms of the town can be seen on a capital in St John’s cloister (1466) and shows a Roman letter S. At the end of the 18th century the S was changed into two golden dolphins. In the 19th century an apple (most often shown as a golden ball) was placed between the two dolphins.
