German In Rot schräg gekreuzt ein silberner Bergmannshammer und ein silbernes Schürfgerät mit goldenen Stielen.

Origin/meaning

The arms first appear on the seal of the town dating from around 1600. The symbols are the obvious symbols for the copper and iron mining near the city. The exact origin of the right tool is not clear, but it has been mentioned as a mining tool. The colours are known since around 1800.
