Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 26, 1954.

The village belonged until the end of the 18th century to the Kolb von Wartenberg family. Their arms are shown on the small inescutcheon. The upper half of the arms shows the savage with a canting stick (Kolb), from the crest of the family arms.

The lower half shows a postal horn, taken from the arms of the local district in the 18th century. The horn was added to the arms after Johann Casimir Kolb von Wartenberg became Postmaster-General in Prussia.
