Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 7, 2001.

The wavy bend is taken from the arms of the Von Thun family, which had several possessions in the municipality in the late medieval times. The bear is taken from another family that played a major role in the local history, the Von Behr-Negendank family. The family owned parts of the area until 1945. The plough and oak leaves refer to the agricultural character and nature in the municipality.
