Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 9, 1968.

The arms are based on the 19th century seal of the village, which showed the horseshoe. It probably is a generic symbol for agriculture. Before the seals also had included symbols for pottery, important from the 16th until the 18th century, but no longer in the 19th. Hence the change to a horseshoe. In 1956 the arms below were proposed (already designed in 1939), using symbolism for pottery, but never adopted by the council:

In the new arms of Friedrichsdorf the horseshoe is added as the symbol for Seulberg.
