Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 10, 1948 to the community and on December 14, 1951 to the town.

The arms show in the upper half some pine trees as a symbol for the importance of forestry. The guns in the lower half refer to the army training grounds (Skillingaryds skjutfält) in the municipality.
