SULZBACHTAL

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Kaiserslautern
Addition : 1969 Obersulzbach, Untersulzbach
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Otterbach-Otterberg (until 2014 Verbandsgemeinde Otterberg)

Wappen von Sulzbachtal

Official blazon

In Silber ein mit drei silbernen Salzkristallen belegter blauer Schräglinkswellenbalken, oben rechts eine grünbestielte und -beblätterte grüne Eichel, unten links eine grünbestielte und -beblätterte schwarze Brombeere.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 23, 1976.

The salt crystals and the blackberry branch are taken from the arms of Ober- and Untersulzbach repectively. Both old arms also showed a canting bar, which was made into a bend in the new arms. The oak branch and acorn are new elements symbolising the forests in the area.
