German Geteilt; oben in Blau zwei goldene Schrägbalken, unten in Silber eine von einem silbernen Wellenbalken durchzogene grüne Hügellandschaft.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1700 by Duke Maximilian Philipp of Bayern. The upper half shows the bends taken from the arms of the Counts of Schwabegg in different colours.

The base shows the Wertach river in the mountains in the area. On the original image the base was shows as a natural landscape, which was simplified to a more heraldic composition in the early 19th century.
