Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 6, 1995.

The wolf is taken from the arms of the Lords of Wolfframsdorff who in medieval times lived in the village. The two pine trees symbolise the Greiz and Waldau forests in the municipality. The division into a golden upper half and blue lower half symbolises the first part of the name (Teich=dike) as well as the sandy soils and many lakes and streams in the municipality. The symbols in the lower half symbolise industry (spindle and hammer) and agriculture (wheatear).
