TREBGAST

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Kulmbach
Additions : 1972 Lindau (partly)

Wappen von Trebgast

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 8, 1986.

The red eagle is derived from the arms of the Margraves of Brandenburg-Bayreuth, as the area was ruled by the margraves from the 14th century onwards.

The base represents the local church, which was built between 1742 and 1744 on the remains of a previous Gothic church. The gate shows miner's tools for the former sandstone quarries. The quarries were of great importance to the village, especially in the early 20th century.
