ULKEBØL

Region : Syddanmark
Amt (until 2007) : Sønderjylland
Incorporated into : 1970 Sønderborg

Arms of Ulkebøl

Origin/meaning

The arms granted in 1962.

The arms show some oak trees, as a symbol for the re-forestation projects of Duke August of Nordborg in the 17th century in the area. Every man who got married was forced to plant some oaks and beeches. Hence the golden wedding rings around the trees.
