Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 1, 1957.

The point with the wheatears refer to the peninsula (näs) on which the municipality is situated. The wheatears refer to agriculture. The boat is taken from the historical seal of the Näs härad (known from 1642), to which the area belonged.
