Origin/meaning
The two leopards recall that the Dukes of Normandy chose Val-de-la-Haye as their residence.
The sword with the Maltese Cross refers to the Knights Templar, who had their Commanderie de Sainte Vaubourg in the town.
The eagle symbolises the return of Napoleon's ashes to France by boat, which landed in the town. the boat and water also reflect the maritime history of the town.
