Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 20, 1986.

The arms show in the first quarter the eagle taken from the arms of the Counts of Leiningen, to whom a large part of the area belonged until 1467. The key refers to the diocese of Worms, to whom the local parishes belonged, the grape is a symbol for the viticulture in the area. The lion in the fourth quarter is the lion of the Pfalz, as most of the area belonged to the Pfalz after 1467. The bordure is the common symbol for a Verbandsgemeinde and is shown in the Leiningen colours.
