Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on Januari 20, 1981.

The arms show in the right half St. Pirminius, taken from the arms of Hornbach, as the Hornbach abbey was of great local importance. The rose is taken from the arms of Contwig, whereas the Agnus Dei is taken from the old seal of Käshofen and Bundenbach. The bordure is the symbol of a Verbandsgemeinde and shown in the colours of the Counts of Zweibrücken and is divided in 17 parts, one for each of the municipalities.
