Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Austria - Österreichische Gemeindewappen |
WÖRTH AN DER LAFNITZ
State : Steiermark
District : Hartberg
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on May 25, 1992.
The arms combine a wolf and a dragon. The former was taken from the arms of Gottschalk von Neuberg, lord of the land in the 14th century, who founded the parish church of St. George. The dragon is the attribute of St. George.
