WÖRTH AN DER LAFNITZ

State : Steiermark
District : Hartberg-Fürstenfeld (until 2015 Hartberg)
Incorporated into : 2015 Rohr bei Hartberg

Wappen von Wörth an der Lafnitz

Official blazon

In Rot ein silberner Wolfsdrache.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 25, 1992.

The arms combine a wolf and a dragon. The former was taken from the arms of Gottschalk von Neuberg, lord of the land in the 14th century, who founded the parish church of St. George. The dragon is the attribute of St. George.
