German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

WAHLSTEDT

State : Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis) : Segeberg

Wappen von Wahlstedt

Official blazon

Von Silber und Rot schräglinks geteilt, darauf in vertauschten Farben ein schrägrechts gestellter, bewurzelter Eichenstumpf mit vier Zweigen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 19, 1956.

The division of the shield symbolises the two villages Gross- and Kleinwahlstede, which were joined to form the present municipality. The oak is a very typical tree for the region. The tree has 12 roots, one for each of the oldest farms and families in the area.
