Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 15, 1979 and are identical to the old arms of Völkesleier.

The arms show the cross of the State of Fulda, the arms of the Lords of Thüngen and the silver bend in blue with the three rings from the Julius-hospital in Würzburg (see also Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn). The area of the municipalities historically belonged to these entities.
