Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 10, 1997.
The tree symbolises the forests in the district. The blue lines represent the Rotes and Wilde Weisseritz rivers, after which the district is named. The lion is the lion of the State of Meissen and the base shows tools that symbolise the importance of mining in the area.
