Wappen von Wennigsen (Deister)/Arms (crest) of Wennigsen (Deister)
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1950.

The chief symbolises the local monastery founded in the 13th century by the Counts of Schaumburg, the former abbey church is now used as the local parish church. The green colour of the field symbolises the forests in the area and the agricultural character of the municipality. The rose is derived from the arms of the Counts of Pappenburg, as in medieval times Bernard von Pappenburg played a major role in the local history.
