Wappen von Wischhafen/Arms (crest) of Wischhafen
Official blazon
German

Origin/meaning

The arms show in the base a small hill. The hill is a Wurt or an artificial dwelling hill, a place where people lived when there were no dikes. It symbolises the oldest village with a church on such a hill, Altendorf. The silver wavy bend is taken from the arms of the noble family Von Drewes, who had their estate in Wischhafen. The bar also refers to the river and shipping. The three wolf's hooks refer to the fact that the last wolves were in the Kehdingen region were killed in the village of Wolfsbruch.
