Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 27, 1972.
The upper half shows two bronze Age cloth pins, which symbolise the archaeological finds in the municipality. The colours are those of the Truhendingen family, who owned the village in medieval times and sold it in 1390 to the Bishops of Bamberg. The lower half thus shows the arms of the State of Bamberg.
Literature: Stadler, 1990.
