ZUFIKON

Canton : Aargau

Wappen von Zufikon

Official blazon

Unter rotem Schildhaupt in Weiss schwarzer Pfahl, beseitet von zwei gestürzten blauen Schlüsseln mit zugekehrtem Bart.

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1949.

The arms are derived from the arms of Baden, as the village historically belonged to the County of Baden. The key is derived from the arms of the Kelleramt of Zürich, which had several privileges in the area.

In 1914 Walter Metz proposed the first arms for the village, showing the local borderstone with the arms of the Baden County and the letters GB (Grafschaft Baden). These arms were hardly (if ever) used by the municipality.

Wappenvorschlag von Zufikon

The proposal from 1914.
