Origin/meaning

The arms are a combination of a canting mountain (Berg) in the base of the arms. The village belonged formerly to the Niedersimmental (castle) and Seftigen (roses) district, at present to the district of Thun (star). The arms were devised in 1926.

Literature: Wappenbuch des Kantons Bern, 1981.
