28TH CIVIL ENGINEER SQUADRON, US AIR FORCE

History: Designated as Squadron C, 28 Airdrome Group, on 28 Jul 1947. Organized on 15 Aug 1947. Discontinued on 12 Jul 1948. Consolidated (3 Oct 1984) with the 28 Installations Squadron, Bombardment, Medium, which was constituted on 28 May 1948. Activated on 12 Jul 1948. Redesignated as: 28 Installations Squadron, Bombardment, Heavy, on 16 May 1949; 28 Installations Squadron on 16 Mar 1950; 28 Civil Engineering Squadron on 1 Jul 1960. Discontinued, and inactivated, on 1 Jan 1962. Activated on 1 Sep 1991. Redesignated as 28 Civil Engineer Squadron on 1 Mar 1994.
