Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in March 2024.

The chief bears the arms of the house of Hattonchâtel. Viéville depended on the castellany of Hattonchâtel under the suzerainty of the bishopric of Verdun until 1546, then under that of the Dukes of Lorraine, symbolized by the red field and the gold alerion.

The stylized facade is that of the church of Viéville built in 1782 restored in 1925.

The bee illustrates a particular historical activity in the village: beekeeping.

The vine branches bear witness to the importance of viticulture until the end of the 19th century.
