Origin/meaning
Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Symbolism: Scarlet and white are the school colors. The Native American warrior is the school mascot, and reflects the cadets’ pride in the heritage of their school, community and country. The dancetty bar resembles the letter “W” and reflects the school’s location.
Shoulder Loop Insignia: Scarlet and white are the school colors, here represented by Gules and Argent (the heraldic tinctures). The silver tower is a landmark piece of architecture, which stands for all of Wichita North High School. The school motto is “Attitude and Effort” and the founding date is 1928.
The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia was approved on 21 July 1998. The Shoulder Loop Insignia was approved on 31 January 2002.
